Obligation to register

Only in case you do not have the nationality of one of the countries of the European Union (EU) you have the obligation to register. Exceptions
When staying at an official campsite or in a hotel, you do not have to register with the Aliens Police, unless this is explicitly stated on your visa. Once you have registered, you are allowed to stay in the Netherlands for a maximum period of 90 days. If you intend to stay in the Netherlands for more than 90 days, you will need to apply for either a residence permit, or – in special cases – an extension of your visa, in both cases to be issued by the IND. You can make an appointment by telephone: 0900-1234 561 (€ 0,10 p/m).

Digital registration

When staying in the Limburg-Noord police region, you will no longer have to make an appointment at the office of the Aliens Police, since you can now also register digitally via this Internet site. The date of sending in the completed form is also the actual date of registration. By registering your personal data yourself, we will be able to process your registration more efficiently and in a shorter period of time.
After we have checked the data received, you will –via your e-mail address – receive a personal invitation to report at the office of the Aliens Police , Rijnbeekstraat 1, 5913 GA Venlo, for your (new) visa sticker to be placed in your passport. This sticker is the official proof of your legitimate stay in the Netherlands. Showing up in person following the invitation is compulsory
