Are you (yourself) the victim of a crime and do you want to report that at the Netherlands Police? Your options may vary on whether you live or stay in The Netherlands, or live abroad. Click on the option that is right for you.

I live in the Netherlands and I want to report a crime.

If you have a citizen service number (BSN), you can apply for a DigiD on www.digid.nl/en
It is recommended to also activate logging in with SMS verification. 

DigiD with SMS verification makes it possible to report the following crimes online:

  1. Destruction of property
  2. Theft
  3. Internet fraud

The forms for online reporting are available in Dutch only. If you do not know Dutch, nor know anyone who can help you fill in the form, please visit a police station to report your crime.

All other crimes must be reported at a police station. Please bring your passport or other identification document.

To ensure that a police officer is available, you can book an appointment via 0900-8844 or +31 34 357 8844. Stay on the line until the recorded message has finished to speak to a police officer. 

I live abroad, and I became the victim of a crime committed by a Dutch citizen or company.

Unfortunately, we cannot help you, and we are unable to process emails and social media requests. You are requested to report the crime at your local police station. If the police in your home country need our assistance, they will send us a request.
