Gelena Vladimirovna Maletina
Gelena is from the former Soviet republic of Kyrgyzstan. She was staying in an asylum seekers’ centre in Markelo in the province of Overijssel in the eastern Netherlands. She was last seen on Thursday, 11 December 2003. An accident is feared.

Gelena was nineteen years old in late 2003. She was following a training course at the Regional Training Centre in Almelo and was staying in Asylum Seekers’ Centre Klompjan in Markelo. She was a somewhat introverted and melancholy young woman, who suddenly disappeared one day. To this day, her family, friends and classmates do not know what happened to her.
Description
Gelena has a light skin, blue eyes and is 1.67 metres tall. She has two scars: one from an appendectomy and one from inguinal hernia surgery. In the period prior to her disappearance, her hair was short and dyed blond and she had a thin figure.
