J.A. Greuter

93 years

Current language: English

The missing person of Johannes Anthonius Greuter (28 years old at the time), who worked in Amsterdam and crossed the IJ by ferry every day at six o'clock, only became known a few days after Christmas 1959. His disappearance was then associated with the collision between the ferry "Heen en Weer IV" and a tanker on December 23, 1959. During this collision, some of the eighty passengers fell overboard. It was believed that all the drowning persons had been saved. After the missing person was discovered, the water police dredged the accident site for a long time, but in vain. To date, Johannes Anthonius Greuter is still missing.
