On 9 May 2013, two men robbed a supermarket in Willemstad, Curacao. During the robbery, one of the robbers shot and killed the supermarket owner. The police suspect that the shooter was Quincley Poppen.

A reward of 10,000 Antillean guilders, which is about 4,500 euro, is being offered for the tip that leads to the solving of the case. Poppen has been missing without a trace for the past five years, and may be using a different identity. The police hope that someone knows his present whereabouts.

Description

On 9 May 2013, Quincley and his accomplice robbed the owners of the Chinese mini market Hua Jiant at Caracasbaaiweg in Willemstad, Curacao. The 42-year-old owner was shot in front of his wife. The thieves escaped with some petty cash and a few telephone cards. Soon after the robbery, the Curacao police released the security camera footage.  The man who had fired the shots, who was wearing a red cap, was recognized by several persons, including relatives. He turned out to be Quincley Emanuel Poppen, who was only 18 at the time. Before he could be arrested, Quincley fled to Sint Maarten. Afterwards, he had telephone contact with his family once, from Saint Kitts and Nevis, but he then vanished without a trace.  The police suspect that Quincley Emanuel Poppen may now be staying in the Netherlands.
