Crash of a small Norwegian airplane in Callandkanaal was a tragic accident
Rotterdam - The police have completed the investigation into the Norwegian plane that crashed into the Callandkanaal in Rotterdam (NL) on 5 June 2022. The Aviation Supervision Team of the Netherlands Police’s Central Unit concludes that it is highly likely that the crash was the result of a tragic accident, in which the bad weather possibly played a role. Both persons on board, a 58-year-old Norwegian man and his 15-year-old son were killed.
Despite an intensive search with the aid of boats equipped with sonar, only a few parts of the plane have been retrieved.
The family of the victims has been informed of the results of the investigation. As the crash was the result of an accident, no criminal investigation will be conducted.
